Cartglass Vitreous Mosaic Tiles
Colorful yet economical, Cartglass Vitreous Mosaic Tiles are an excellent solution to your tiling needs. These can be used both outdoors and indoors. The tiles are sold loose in one-pound bags. On the average, there are 140 to 150 tiles in a bag. Installation of the loose tiles may take a little longer than those in a mesh or paper backing, but the finished work is just as attractive.
The tiles measure ¾” x ¾” inch with a thickness of over 1/8″. With ridges on the tiles’ back, bonding with glue or thinset mortar is stronger and more secure. A bag of the tiles can cover approximately .70 square foot when spaced at 1/16″.
The Cartglass Vitreous Mosaic Tiles are available in plenty of colors of different shades. Blue, for instance, can be bright blue, ice blue, sky blue, lake blue, ocean blue, and deep blue. The other colors –green, red, purple, gray, and yellow– also have their own different shades. Because the tiles are sold loose, you can combine any of these colors to get the design you want. In fact, you can even mix the tiles with other brands.
The tiles are impervious to liquid. They are also frost-free. For these reasons they can be used around the pool or hot tub, bathroom, and kitchen. When used indoors where they are not expected to be exposed to moisture, water-based glues may be used to bond them. However, in wet areas such as the bathroom as well as outdoors, a thinset bonding mortar is required.
