DIY Glass Tile Backsplash
A glass tile backsplash makes your kitchen even more beautiful and inviting. There are some professional who can do this job for you but doing your own backsplash is easy. It would also be a great accomplishment. If you are keen on this Do-It-Yourself project, here are some of the materials you would need: bucket, mixing tool, tape measure, V-notch trowel, grout sponge, grout float, white thin set powder, and grout powder. Of course, you’ll also need glass tiles. The best option for this DIY project is a mesh mounted brick style type.
To begin your glass tile backsplash installation, mix the thinset and apply it on the kitchen area where you want to install them. Use the V-notch trowel to coat the thinset evenly. Next is to apply the glass tiles securely. Don’t push the tiles too hard, just tap them using the back of your hand. After installing the glass tiles, allow it to cure or set for 24 hours.
After a day, it is time to apply grout unto the tiles. Force the grout into the tiles using the rubber float. Once the grout is dry, remove the excess using a damp grout sponge. You can then wipe the glass tiles with a dry cheese cloth. You also have the option to apply a protective sealant to protect the grout.
After all your hard work, you can now enjoy your glass tile backsplash.
