Glass Tile Installation

Glass tiles are made from crushed recycled bottle glass. The raw crushed glass is melted in a furnace with a temperature of over 200 degrees until it turns molten. Color is then added to the glass at this point. The molten glass is pressed into various molds to create different sizes and shapes of glass tiles. The smaller tiles are arranged into sheets to make installation easy and hassle free. Because of all the handwork that takes to make a single sheet, this is no wonder that glass tiles are a bit more expensive compared to ordinary ceramic tiles.

Installing glass tiles in your home is easy. It just needs a bit of brawn as well as creativeness and imagination. First, you’ll need to choose the color scheme of your glass tiles as well as the design that you want to achieve. You can use a test board, about the same size as the wall where in you’ll install the tiles, to create your own personalized design. You can experiment with rectangle and square glass tiles and randomly arrange them to make your own mosaic look. To create an even more unique pattern, you can cut the tiles to create different shapes.

This type of glass tile installation might be a bit more tedious and complicated than using sheeted glass tiles but the result is definitely worth it.
