Glass Tile Store Stained Glass Collections

Although the term “stained glass” often evokes images of huge cathedral windows with an arrangement of colored glass cut in different shapes to depict Jesus or the saints, it can mean any colored glass or any work made from them, such as the Glass Tile Store Stained Glass Collections.
The collection consists of 11 sets –Harvest Gold, Pomegranate Blend, Coffee Bean, Lake Blue, Golden, Gamba, Tai, Majella, Mariska, Plum Brule, and Amber.
Each of these consists of tiles sized ¾” x ¾” arranged in a sheet with rows and columns of 15 tiles each. The total 225 tiles, along with the spaces in between them, make up a sheet measuring 13″ x 13″ square. The tiles are mounted on a mesh backing which makes installation quick and easy.
The colors of the tiles are painted on their bottoms. This keeps them from getting scratched with normal foot traffic or from dust, dirt, or sand that are brought into the house. The glass tiles themselves are translucent, diffusing the color beneath them. This creates a luminescence that brightens any room they are installed in.
All 11 sets of the collection combine colors that complement each other to present a striking blend. Harvest Gold, for instance, consists of tiles colored with shades of peach, gold, and bronze reflecting the color of wheat near harvest time. Coffee Bean, on the other hand, has the colors of dark espresso, cappuccino, and mocha. Lake Blue, of course, presents the different shades of blue often seen reflected on the deep waters of a lake.
When installing the Glass Tile Store Stained Glass Collections, care should be exercised in the preparation of the substrate. There should be no cracks and it should be flat. It must be cleaned and rid of contaminates such as any curing compound before applying the thinset mortar. White is recommended so as not to affect the color of the tiles.
