The Blueberry tile blend consists of mosaic tiles that are all colored blue but in different shades –navy, cobalt, and sky. The differently colored tiles are spread over a sheet in no particular pattern, giving each a unique and distinctive character. The tiles are cool to the eyes, providing them with a calming effect, especially after long exposures to reds, yellows, and oranges. They actually work like magic on tired eyes.
Each tile measures ¾” x ¾” or 20 mm x 20 mm. They are spaced apart from each other at 1.5 mm. They are mounted on sheets of paper, with each having 225 tiles. The sheets measure 1.15′ x 1.15′ or 35 cm x 35 cm. Tile thickness is 4 mm, which is thick enough for floor use provided foot traffic is light to moderate, the substrate on which it is installed is flat, and installation complies with recommended method and materials.
Since the tiles are impervious to water, they can be installed in moisture-prone areas including bathrooms, spa or pool area, and kitchen. They can be used for both floor and walls in the shower room. They can be used as borders around your spa or pool and can even be used as highlights on their walls. They can also be used anywhere in the kitchen, including the sink backsplash.
When installing the tiles, a latex-modified thinset of good quality is recommended. Brands that are known to work well with the Great Taste Blueberry Glass Mosaic Tile Blend are Flex-Band of Custom Building Products, Superflex from Tec, and Kerabond/Keraplastic of Mapei. Under no circumstance, however, should you use ceramic tile mastic.
