Hakatai Ashland-e Standard Blends

Made of recycled glass ranging from 30% to 70% depending on color, the Hakatai Ashland-e Standard Blends are the perfect glass mosaic tiles for the environmentally conscious who would like to help reduce the amount of garbage ending up in the landfills. Indeed, 90% of this waste glass consists of post-consumer materials, while the remaining 10% are pre-consumer.
The tiles come in different colors including blue, brown, gold, gray, and red. These vary in hue and tone with some nearly opaque while others are almost transparent. While there are blends that are pre-mounted, such as the Clear Icicle Blend consisting of blue tiles with varying shades and the Sun Tea Iridescent Blend which is composed of a combination of light brown tiles also of varying tones, you can create your own custom blend. In fact, the Hakatai website has an online interactive custom blend tool allowing you to choose your desired tile colors and in percentages that you want. The tool then mixes and lays out these chosen colors and presents the result on the screen.
Since the tiles are handmade, their colors and shades are hardly ever consistent. Thickness can vary and even the length and width are often slightly more or less than the declared measurements. This, however, is what makes the sheets as well as the individual tiles unique and gives them character.
The tiles are impervious to moisture and liquids hence they are resistant to stains, fading, or discoloration. This makes them easy to clean requiring only a good wiping with a clean piece of cloth. These features make them perfect for wet areas such as the kitchen sink backsplash or bathroom. They are also a perfect enhancement for your pool or hot tub area. They can even be installed on the wall of your swimming pool to add color and luster to a wall consisting of uniform and lifeless white tiles.
The individual tiles are approximately 1″ x 1″ with a thickness, also approximately, of ΒΌ”. They are mounted on 1.15′ x 1.15′ sheets of paper, with each having 144 tiles.
