Hakatai Tivoli Series Glass Mosaic Tiles

Hakatai Tivoli Series Glass Mosaic Tiles

Growing environmental awareness has led many people, manufacturers included, to heed and practice the environmentalist slogan “recycle, reuse, reduce”. Many products are now made of recycled materials, including furniture, kitchen utensils, plastic containers, jewelry, home décor, and the Hakatai Tivoli Series Glass Mosaic Tiles.

Up to 70% of the Hakatai Tivoli tiles are made of recycled glass from bottles, drinking glasses, automobile windshields, and table tops among others. Of these, 90% come from post-consumer materials that would otherwise have gone to the landfills. The remaining 10% are pre-consumer glass consisting mostly of waste glass from glassware manufacturers.

Although they come from waste materials, it does not mean that they cannot be beautiful. Indeed, the Tivoli Series tiles are iridescent whose colors and shades change when viewed from different perspectives or when lighting fluctuates. There are two blends in the series –Indigo Blend, which features tiles of varying shades of indigo; and Black Gold Blend, composed of black and gold tiles arranged in no particular order.

The tiles can be used for both interior and exterior applications. You can install them on walls, countertops, backsplashes, light-traffic floors, or swimming pool. As they are impervious to water, they are easily maintained. They also resist fading and staining. Neither can they be damaged by frost.

Each mosaic tile is sized ¾” x ¾” with an approximate thickness of ?”. They come in mesh-backed sheets of 225 tiles spaced apart from each other at about 1/16″. Each sheet covers 1.15 square foot. With the mesh backing, the tiles are easy to install. You do not even need special tools for this. All you need are a trowel, grout float, tile nippers, wet saw, and wet drill.
