Mosaic Source Chimera Glass Mosaic Tiles

Chimera refers to the fire-breathing female monster in Greek mythology that consists of three different animals. The main body is that of a lion, with the head and neck of a goat rising from its back, while its tail ends with the head of a serpent. That the Mosaic Source Chimera Glass Mosaic Tiles were named after this creature was probably because the fire that it breathed could have different colors depending on the materials and particles present around it. Like the fire that can be blue, red, orange, yellow, or white, the tiles can also exude radiant rainbow colors when caressed by light.
With the addition of special chemicals to the coating of the tiles, they become iridescent reflecting all kinds of colors. This is why they are a favorite in bars, casinos, and clubs. With bright and special lights, their reflections are even more dramatic.
The Chimera Glass Mosaic Tiles come in sheets of 13″ x 13″. With each individual tile measuring ¾” x ¾”, and enough space in between them for grouting, there are 225 pieces of individual mosaic tiles in each sheet. These are mounted, face down, on a piece of thick brown paper that does not easily come off the tiles.
There are nine different kinds of Mosaic Source’s Chimera collection, each of which is strikingly brilliant and beautiful. First is the Argento whose tiles are a combination of blue and gray tiles, in different intensities. Citron is predominantly orange, like a true citrus, although there is a scattering of sky blue. Esmeralda features different shades of blue include electric, royal, and cyan. Lampone includes red, purple, and blue in varying shades. Limone is mainly silver with a few light blue tiles. Turchese is very colorful, with blue, yellow, and a few red tiles. Violetta has the most varied colors, including black, brown, purple, yellow, and green. The last is the Zaffiro which is almost like Esmeralda except for some of its tiles that include a tinge of purple.
The tiles can be used in virtually any application –bathroom, kitchen, pool, or hot tub area. They are impervious to water and are resistant to fading and scratching. And with their iridescence, they literally add color to their surroundings.
