Mosaic Source Recycled Glass Gaia Blends

Named after the Ancient Greeks’ primordial earth goddess Gaia, the Mosaic Source Recycled Glass Gaia Blends reflect earth colors and hues. And the reason why the blends are dedicated to and named after the earth goddess is that they are made of recycled glass thus helping in the difficult task of sustaining mother earth.

There are three different types of Gaia Blends –Arcadia, Pangea, and Zephyr Iridescent Blends. All these are manufactured from a minimum of 30% to a maximum of 70% recycled glass that come from discarded bottles and other forms of glass that would otherwise have been added to the landfills.

Individual tiles come three sizes measuring ½” x ½”, ½” x 1″, and 1″ x 1″. They are face mounted on sheets of paper with dimensions of 13″ x 13″ They can be installed using a direct bond thin-set method without back buttering the glass tile sheets.

The glass tiles are perfect for all locations that are exposed to water splashes. You can have them in the bathroom, kitchen, hot tub, or swimming pool. Since they are impervious to water, it is a breeze maintaining them in these locations. Of course, you can install them anywhere to add sparkle to your living room, den, or game room.

All tiles in the three blends are clear and transparent but they are tinted with different colors. The Arcadia Blend uses colors from a pastoral setting, much like the idyllic Arcadia of the Greeks. It has green, blue, and brown tiles, all in a very light hues. There are also colorless tiles.

The Pangea Blend, on the other hand features amber, copper, and tan, which are the colors of the supercontinent Pangea from which the seven continents came from.

The Zephyr Blends use gray, light blue, and colorless tiles that make them look light and airy. Just like the Greek Zephyrus who personifies the west wind and brings light, the tiles evoke images of spring and open spaces.
